Current Habit of Happy Kids:

Put First Things First : Work First, Then Play

Habit 3 of the 7 Traits of Happy Kids is celebrated in January and February.  This trait helps us focus on prioritizing to help produce positive results for all.

Deciding what our most important jobs or responsibilities are, as well as committing to doing them before spending time on other activities, are key components in this Habit.

What Are The 7 Habits of Happy Kids?

What are the 7 Habits of Happy Kids ?

The 7 Habits of Happy Kids were developed by Stephen Covey.  He is an international leadership authority and life coach through his prolific works as an author, including the bestsellers The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and  The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens.

In Covey's 7 Habits of Happy Kids,  we are introduced to areas of focus that will help kids be more successful, positive, and therefore happier individuals.  Who wouldn't want that for their students !! Therefore, Uncas School has embraced the 7 Habits through our Character Education program.  We have created multi-graded teams, one for each of the 7 Habits.

Together Is Better

I value other people’s strengths and learn from them. I get along well with others, even people who are different than me. I work well in groups. I seek out other people’s ideas to solve problems because I know that by teaming with others we can create better solutions than anyone of us can alone. I am humble.
